The Client Services Director, based in London, manages all London-based client services team members and oversees all projects for the EMEA region for The Wall Street Journal and Dow Jones’ growing advertising and communications strategies business.
As our business builds new revenue streams and transforms how we engage with clients above and beyond the traditional RFP process, the Director will be responsible for communicating and implementing this new vision to the wider EMEA region.
The Director will need strong, hands-on management skills to refocus the team and actively recruit, coach and train new hires; confidence and conviction demonstrated through presentation skills for client-facing pitches as well as internal comms; an entrepreneurial mindset to solving problems and seeking out new business development opportunities; and a data-driven approach to investing team resources to deliver maximum return on investment.
The Client Services team is responsible for leading the process of developing solutions from end to end, ensuring that they’re not only delivered on time and on budget for our clients, and that they also drive our clients’ businesses and lead to long term partnerships with Dow Jones. This will involve various levels of input – depending on client size and solution requirements – from teams across the Solutions group and wider company to deliver the proposed solution and if required, to manage the ongoing delivery of that solution post-sale. The other teams in the Solutions group are there to support the Client Services team to deliver against the pitch.
The Client Service team is the driving force behind the group’s commercial activities: understanding objectives, assembling teams of specialists and leading the process to success. We own the solution end to end, from "what is the problem we're solving?" to "how are we going to measure and report success?", and we work with the right people to answer those questions
Provide integrated sales team with marketing knowledge and solutions to drive advertising revenue from clients
Manage, guide and direct Europe client services team
Champion sales efforts for European products for Global sales team
Resident expert for client specific print, digital and integrated RFPs, presentations (comprised of research, key sales points, specialized added value, third party marketing relationships, etc.) and marketing collateral for EMEA
Develop 360 degree client-focused advertising/marketing programs that draw from diverse resources
Uncover insight across global and European competitive set
Pursue and negotiate strategic media partnerships across the EMEA region
